As I sit here this Saturday morning drinking my lite beer, I am amazed that the Senators sit 1st place in the East. But tonight they have a tough challenge ahead of them: The Mighty Avalanche. However, Ottawa is known to take the crappiest teams seriously and put on their best performance. I think Guy Boucher has them in the right mind frame. He does this by forcing the players to place an apple on their heads while he gently throws a knife at it. This builds trust. Except when Methot took one directly in the stomach.
Ottawa has some major injuries right now with Turris, Stone, and Ryan out. That's okay though, because these are the #Pesky Sens. I'm not gonna talk about #TheSystem because I hate computers. I don't trust them. Computers keep track of where you are, even when you're at the Legion but you have a restraining order against you. Also, when #TheSystem becomes self aware, this whole mother burns to the ground and Cory Clouston comes back as the liquid Terminator to take out a 5 year old Guy Boucher.
I said I didn't want to talk about #TheSystem but let's talk more about #TheSystem. What is it anyways? Scholars will tell you it is: "a set of connected things or parts forming a complex whole". WHAT THE FACK DOES THAT EVEN MEAN? And how does it relate to hockey? How do players connect to become a whole? Do they join hands at Center ice and sing Kumbaya? It's just ridiculous. System is also defined as "a set of principles or procedures according to which something is done". Bullshit. Why would you need more than one principle?? Mr. Belding ran Bayside High by himself and he had zero issues. Except for Screech. Screech ruined a lot of things.
Here's my system. Shoot the fucking puck in the net. Done.
